Did You Hear What I Heard?

No, this isn't a piece on Christmas music, yet. That's probably in the near future. Because have you seen Costco and Macy's and everyone else with their Christmas decorations for sale already? Goodness, we haven't even gotten to Halloween yet, er, I mean, Harvest Festival yet.
This is actually about that All Access and A&R Worldwide radio summit coming up next April. The Worldwide Radio Summit will be in Hollywood with the goal of "bringing the brightest minds in the radio and music business from around the globe to mingle and exchange ideas with the world's most innovative and creative technology and revenue experts."
So, Christian radio, are you thinking about going?
What? You don't have the money? You don't have the time? You don't think this is for you?
Let's think about this.
From what I hear, All Access and A&R Worldwide are going to have some of big guns at this deal. Your station will benefit from not only hearing what they have to say but will benefit from the networking opps, maybe even with other stations from your market. And who doesn't want to spend a spring weekend in Los Angeles? (Where do I sign up?)
Honestly, you know how to make this affordable? Find a friend to split the hotel with. Fly out cheap on Southwest (or drive over from Vegas). Use a shuttle to the hotel (no rental). Send ONE person, and pick the person who has the time and the initiative to learn and bring back ideas. Send the person who works with the community and the listeners to find news ways to engage. Find someone to sponsor a person to attend.
I hear it'll be worth the small investment.
