Doom and Gloom

What's all this doom and gloom I'm reading on the forums?

Sure, stations around the country, WAY-FM or not, are having trouble. So are other industries. It's not a great economy right now. What other non-profit organizations are struggling during this time? Plenty.

So in times like these, what is one to do?

Can you look past the money issues? It's hard. Bills need to get paid; salaries need to be paid. But there's got to be some way to make it work, even when the numbers are down. Time to get creative with the budget! And time to get creative with the listeners! Just because people maybe don't have the money to send monthly now to the station, doesn't mean they aren't listening. At least we hope!

I mean, let's assume they are still listening even if they can't support financially. So are you keeping them listening? Are you paying attention to your listeners? If they are struggling financially, are you doing things to help them out? Are you being creative in how you can support them through these tough times? Think about that. Don't just focus on the dollars not coming in but on how you can support those who have supported you in the past?
