Everybody needs money these days, not just homeless people. Radio, labels, heck, even banks need money these days.
In reference to radio, how are you handling your money? Are you expecting the same old ways to come through in the 11th hour? If so, not only shame, but double and triple shame on you.
You don't get rich by repeating the status quo. Repeating the status quo isn't flashy. It isn't sexy. It isn't something that people want to be a part of. (And, yes, I did use the word sexy in this Christian radio column. Deal with it.)
People want something fresh. Your listeners' #1 asset is their time and money. You already get their time because you are creating something of value. Your goal should be to monetize that without begging.
Dump sharathons/friendraisers/pledge drives and find something new. Time to make room for a new golden goose.
