Jennifer Knapp Is Gay?

Have you had/heard this conversation yet?

"Did you know Jennifer Knapp came out of the closet?"

"Seriously?! I had no idea."

"Yeah! Apparently she's been living in Australia for 7 years with her partner."

"Wow. I'd heard the rumors but I didn't think it was true. Is she still touring?"

Now I'm not much of a historian on popular Christian artists who reveal that they're gay, minus the recent Ray Boltz revelation. But most of the time radio, retail and the like shun a gay artist.

My favorite part of the Jennifer Knapp story? It hasn't been complete backlash. Why?

Because the MUSIC is SO GOOD!

People want Jennifer back. They want that missing piece from their playlist back.

I'm not sure Jennifer wants that back as she's said that her new release is for the mainstream market. But the fact that Jennifer answered questions from "Christianity Today" means that she's still open to the format that helped make her popular.

None of this really happened with Ray Boltz. Maybe that whole situation gave us the ammo we were looking for so we really could hate "Thank You."

You see if the music is good, people will keep coming back, no matter what.
