We Wish You a Merry Christmas

I had friends complaining that stores had Christmas decorations for sale before Halloween. And now one station made the Christmas flip this past week. Before Halloween.
Is pre-Halloween Christmas music too much, too early?
I kind of get tired of Christmas music if I start at Thanksgiving. Isn't some of its magic lost when played for over two months?
I understand wanting to raise people spirit's when life gets them down. To counter the pressure of economic woes and swine flu and such. But isn't that what Christian music is supposed to do in general? Doesn't it point to the world's greatest hope when life seems to be too much to handle?
Right now, I'm literally trying to imagine going out and getting in my car, turning on the radio and flipping to a station of all Christmas music. And I don't get it. Even if I enjoyed it for the first 30 minutes, I can't imagine getting in and listening to it everyday between now and Christmas. Isn't the point to get people to tune in everyday?
It's too much, too soon.
Wait until Thanksgiving, please!
