If It Ain’t Broke

We've all heard it, probably have said it many times in our lives...

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

It's a simple saying with some valuable wisdom behind it.

But recently I heard a variation of it, and it really struck a chord.

"If it ain't broke, find a way to make it better."

Let me be the first to say that I don't think everything in life needs to be made better, but I do think it's smart food for thought. A thing, a product, a process, a relationship, a community, a home, a business, an organization, etc., may be good, or even great, but how can I, (or how can we), make it better?

Truett Cathy, the founder of the Chick-Fil-A, during a time when the restaurant was facing a lot of competition and uncertainty said, "If we get better, our customers will demand that we get bigger."

P.S. Know where I heard that saying? It was Kirby Smart, head coach of the 2021 College Football National Championship team, the University of Georgia Bulldogs.
