What You Can Learn from Campbell’s Soup

In last month’s tip, I dealt with the “say back to us what we say about us” mechanic that way too many CCM stations think is a Strategy.

It isn’t.

Just saying you’re positive or uplifting is only selecting an adjective.

Campbell’s soup knows more than you do. “M’m! M’m! Good!” is synonymous with who and what they are. No matter what, when you’re pressed for a decent meal, you can always just open a can of Campbell’s Tomato or Chicken Noodle, maybe add some crackers, and that’ll satisfy you.

“M’m! M’m! Good!” is an EMOTION, not just a string of words or an empty claim. And they live up to it, in multiple ways and on multiple levels, every single time you eat their soup. It’s home. It’s warm. It’s family.
