CCM Coaching Tip #50: Vocabulary - The Magic Key

The words you use - whether they're your own, or some copy that you're reading - create a more three-dimensional picture of you. Let me give you some insight from a recent session with a very good talent who's just starting to see more into this area.

She was describing "unicorn" food, with the example of "a smoothie that's blue, but changes colors as you drink it."

Okay, that's a good, solid definition. But then she said, "The first sip is mango. Then the next one is sour, weird."

That was okay, but lacked impact. So in her session the next day, I urged her to take it even farther in order to make more of a visual and sensory impression:

"The first sip is mango. The next sip is...FEET."

Great talents all share one thing: the ability to access thevocabularythat paints a more vivid picture.
