I haven't read the book (and don't plan on it) but someone was talking about "The Dream Giver" by Bruce Wilkinson the other day and I found myself (remotely) drawn in by the conversation of what Bruce writes about in the book.
Whether you agree with all of his theology or not (not sure that I do), what he writes about in "The Dream Giver" is something to be considered. He puts forth the idea that there is a dream inside each one of us, a plan, a story placed there by God. According to Bruce and his book, it is our duty to search out that dream, activate it and see it worked out (I probably paraphrase too much). The book has sold ump-tine number of copies, much like his "Prayer of Jabez." Some people out there must be pursing the dream.
What does this have to do with anything? There was a discussion circulating recently about the use of the phrase "I wish" in the Point of Grace single "I Wish." To some it came down to semantics about the meaning and use of the word "wish." To others it didn't seem right to use the word "wish" at all. And I just wonder, with all those who are out there working out a "dream," how many of them are using the word "wish" accidentally or incidentally?
