Idol Worship

Season 8 of "American Idol" reveals a growing trend. It has been noted that more than half of the remaining finalists have performed at places of worship. Seems religion is playing some kind of role on "Idol." The numbers of Christians making it through to Hollywood is growing.

Ironic.

The purported presence of so many Christians on a show that seeks to crown one its "American Idol" and launch his or her musical career is just ironic, funny almost.

And who's responsible?

Is it God? Is God showing such people favor? Does he even watch "AI"?

Is it the producers? Are the producers stacking the finalists to show more religion? And what would be the motive for that?

Or is it America? If the fans are the ones voting, are they voting for favorites or for the best talent?

Hmmm. It's interesting.

I'm kind of still stuck on the "Christians" and "Idols" combination.
