Orlando, Here We Come!

Momentum 2012 is but weeks away. How excited are we?

Well, let's take a look at this schedule of events that CMB posted this week.

On the first night we have the Networking Dinner with the announcement of the CMB Award winners. No Echo Awards to sit through on Saturday! +1 to CMB.

That is followed by a worship event with Passion City Church (i.e. Tomlin, Giglio, and company). No morning worship while stuffing eggs and bacon in our faces! +1 to CMB.

Onto Day 2, Thursday starts with networking coffee and breakfast. No music, no program to sit through, just "networking" or hanging out with friends over bad coffee. +0.5 CMB

Morning educational session with Valerie Geller (+1) with two songs from two artists, both proven at radio (-2 for only one song each, +2 for adding music to sessions). +1 to CMB.

Networking BOX lunch gives people time to go get a real lunch or to hang out with more friends, thus defeating networking purpose. And no music to enjoy. -1 to CMB.

Afternoon networking session with good speakers and good artists. +1 to CMB.

Dinner is a keynote address with some music (+1). A tricky way to make sure I hear the keynote (-1), from a guy who unfortunately I think lost his job this week. Even to CMB.

After a mixer (I always leave after dinner) there are two different options for promotions folks and CHR folks. I guess if you are either one, that might be good. +1 to CMB.

Onto Day 3, it's all the same up until the new CMB Acoustic Café so we'll just copy the point totals from Thursday. +2.5 to CMB. But the Acoustic Café where five artists share the story behind the song before Night of Joy. +1 to CMB.

Last day, Saturday, more coffee and more networking in a brunch form now. Thank God, the Echo Awards are gone, but another round of educational sessions, with four more artists? Meh, I'm uninspired by that. Especially after screaming my way through Night of Joy. -2 to CMB for not just giving us a music show for the lack we have heard all week.

Total score = +6. CMB comes out 6 points up from previous conferences. Now to see how it actually all turns out.
