CMB is a taking a turn. For the better, I think.

They had a lot of fixing to do. Last year's Momentum was like a band-aid on a dam ready to bust wide open. Luckily, they found the right people at the right time to put on what I would call an "okay" conference.

I'd say, with the speaker list released so far, this year's conference should be a grand slam.

The interesting thing will be how many people actually show up with the new individualized member status and higher conference pricing. Of course, that could weed out anyone who simply came to hang at Disney for a few days versus those who actually came to learn.

Then there are the rumblings on label showcases. Those seem to change every day on whether it will help or hurt labels. But then again, labels assume that everyone in the room actually cares about the music that will be showcased. And that is highly debatable.

All that said, I think you should go. I hope you go. Support the industry. Stay relevant. Stay alive.
