OK, so I'm not actually out in L.A. for this. My keeper only lets me out about twice per year so I'm at home and not hobnobbin' and learnin' with all the other fine radio folks in L.A.
Though I have found Twitter and the hashtag #WWRS2012 to be helpful. Check it out, even after the weekend. You might find some enlightening information and links to more stuff.
Including the Jacobs Media Techsurvey 8 findings. I saw a few of those findings on Twitter. You can also read them in a story on All Access Net News.
I love that you guys represented the Contemporary Christian format in this survey and it was acknowledged. (Because don't you feel like the red headed stepchild in the radio family sometimes? Maybe I'm putting too many personal emotions into this.)
One thing they mentioned in their findings is that our listeners stream their music. Whether that's from your station's online streaming or Pandora or the like, I can't say from this article, but it seems that's how many are getting their music. And it's also interesting that about half of Pandora users view Pandora as radio, but it was concluded that it lacks the human element. So we still have that going for us.
Overall, some interesting stuff come our way through this Techsurvery. Hopefully those of us who couldn't leave the city limits for L.A. will get to see more of that.
