He Is Risen, Indeed!

Someone asked the question: If Jesus died on this particular Friday, why do we call it "good"?

My friend pulled up the ol' B.C. comic that posed the same question. You know the one? The punch line goes like this: "If you were going to be hanged on that day, and he volunteered to take your place, how would you feel?" "Good."

Jesus, the sinless Son of God, paid the penalty that was mine. That is the good news and makes for a Good Friday.

I am kind of glad that I find all the Easter Bunny costumes roaming around at this time of time creepy. They keep me from falling in love with cute little bunnies when really I should be remembered the real reason for the season.

I'm sure you all will take time to reflect on Jesus and his sacrifice AND his resurrection this weekend. And I pray that it will go far beyond just these three days.
