It's That Time of Year Again

This week we found out who the nominees are for this year's Dove Awards.
Has anyone done a tally to see which label got the most nominations? Because it would stand to reason and statistics that, that label would have the best chance of winning the most awards.
I guess it would also work to have a significant percentage of the voters in one's camp, too.
But who is voting this year? I've heard that a few are boycotting the voting process after Word walked away with a significant number last year. You know, due to block voting and all.
Because that's helpful.
And Christ-like.
I find that rumor amusing and I've decided to start my own. I would like to point out the suspicious number of Southern Gospel nominees popping up in the top categories: Song, Male Vocalist, Group, Artist, New Artist... Bill Gaither must be cooking up some kind of plot to bring the Dove Awards back to their Southern Gospel roots.
Good rumors come with protests, too, so I urge everyone in every other genre of Christian music to not vote this year. That'll teach those Southern Gospel folks to stack the decks in their favor.
Seriously though. Are people making a concerted effort to protest last year's awards via this year's awards? Because I can't even remember who won last year. What I do remember is how long last year's show was. Can we please maybe protest that instead? I don't think any of us want to sit through another awards show hearing either Word Records or Gaither Music Group over and over and over....
