How updated are you on technology? And don't be too boastful when asking yourself that. Stay in this reality; don't enter your own.

Now, more than ever, you need to be up-to-date.

Why?

Because Becky/Linda/Sarah/Kate already is.

She's probably got an iPhone and knows how to tweet. Of course she's got Facebook, not to mention the blogs that she tracks on a daily basis. Everyday she's learning something new about how to use technology in her life and for her family.

If you don't keep up, then you're behind your listener's daily life. Which creates the divide between you and your listener. And last time I checked any of your consultant's words, I'm pretty sure "creating a divide" was not among them.
