Keeping Momentum

Really enjoyed Momentum in Orlando last week. It was great to get to see old friends, and always good to make new ones. I found some wisdom in places I expected and also harvested a few jewels from sources that I did not.
A few things that stand out, in no specific order, rhyme or reason:
Make sure you put Jesus in the center of your social media circle, instead of yourself (or your station). We try too hard to make ourselves the center of the digital marketing universe. If we are constantly pointing to Jesus, as a part of the overall CIRCLE of communication, our listeners will get it. And we will continue to be a big part of their circle. Don't try to be the Sun. Just one of the gravitating bodies.
If God is in charge of the finances, then why am I always asking for money? Well, because God has always put a high premium on work. He wants us to have to work for what we achieve. If all we did was rub the genie KJV bottle and quote some financial Scripture claiming our finances, it would not be as satisfying. Be diligent. Put in the effort. And he will bless, in his time and in his measure.
Several of the label showcases were amazing, and all were very appreciated. Provident's take on WPLG radio was downright hilarious! Shimmy and Katie are a hoot! And the Crowns were incredible! Centricity's Downhere knocked it out of the park. WoW! There's a new vocal standard, and his name is not Mercury. Curb's Selah was such a welcome refreshing breath of air: amazingly talented artists, anointed, communicating from the heart. Fair Trade Services had the Shanes going all "Brother Where Art Thou"
EXCELLENT, and Laura Story sang from her soul on "Blessings." EMI CMG was their normal betcha can't top this self, with fantastic performances PLUS hooked us up with some food and passes to Night of Joy! Word trotted out their spectacular show ponies, AND gave us Mickey Mouse-shaped ice cream on a stick! What's not to like about that?
I'm very grateful for the label's sponsorship of these type of events. Without them, the cost for us to participate would be prohibitive, or the quality, content and ambience would greatly suffer. As grandma used to say, "It takes money to ride the train." But when someone else is paying the majority of your fare, it takes a whole lot less. So, thank you, labels. Please know we appreciate you. And know that you're not taken for granted.
Now, the focused effort is to KEEP the momentum that we gained in Orlando. For it not to be a once-a-year respite, but rather a four day start-up to something truly amazing! Momentum: "The impetus and driving force gained by the development of a process or course of events." Here's to a fantastic course of events over the next twelve months! With God's inspiration as the driving force!
