You ever have those days when you've got nothing to say?
They are usually few and far between for me; I typically always have something to say but alas, not much today.
I'm wracking my brain to figure out why but again, coming up blank.
It's a case of writer's block, I guess.
Or a case of the weekends. (Is it 5 o'clock, yet?)
Maybe this just means I need to take a break and step away from the computer. Maybe take the week off from writing this column. (I'm kidding, Jackie. I know, you need it by end of business.)
So, have you had days like this? What do you do in pressure situations like this? Where do you find the words? Where do you go on those early mornings, middays, afternoons, or evenings when you need words to share with your listeners but you have nothing? Who or what becomes your source of information? Maybe you have a co-host or guest that you can play off? (Anyone wanna join me on this Bully Pulpit show this week?) Or are you unlike me and always have words to speak when the time comes? (What IS your secret?)
I guess we all have our "off" days. And if we all have our "off" days, then we understand our colleagues when their show or their day kind of misses the mark. It becomes another chance to show grace and speak encouragement, right?
Just as long as they don't become the norm. So I'll do better next week. I promise. But if you tossed me some fodder that'd be awesome.
