So, when are you reading this? Pre-Judgment Day or Post-Judgment Day?
Should the End of the World actually have happened, I want to wish anyone reading this all the best.
Should the End of the World not have happened (as I suspect it won't, not at least as Mr. Camping has predicted), then where do we go from here?
I think the best way to deal with this whole Judgment Day prediction is to remember that it could happen TODAY or SATURDAY or sometime next week. That's the whole point. We have to live like every day is our last. Like every day matters.
But not just living for ourselves and where our eternal salvation lies. But living for others and where their eternal hope is.
Have we learned anything from Harold Camping? I hope so.
I hope we learn not to be so caught up in our roots on Earth that we forget the Kingdom of God. I hope we remember that the End of the World could happen soon. Without a moment's notice. Without a few thousand billboards warning us. I hope we remember that God's return isn't about fear mongering but about God's love and redemption for this world and all of its creation.
And should the Judgment Day of May 21st come and go without any big events, can we just promise to move from Mr. Camping and live our lives as if next Saturday is Judgment Day?
