Saying goodbye can be painful and not the easiest thing to do. Think back to a time in your life when you had to say goodbye. Visualize where you were and how you felt. I faced two very difficult goodbyes within the same month… September 2017.
The first was at the bedside of my 95-year-old grandma whose body was finally failing. She was mostly unresponsive throughout the day. In the evening, I said goodbye and left my parent’s house. Later that night she passed away in my childhood bedroom.
At the end of the month, I left a job of nearly twelve years. It was a special place filled with people who worked tirelessly to help build and protect an amazing culture. Probably a once in a lifetime experience. Saying final goodbyes, walking out of the radio station, and pulling out of the parking lot one last time is something I’ll always remember.
You rarely realize in the present moment that you’re living in the good ole’ days.
SAYING GOODBYE IS RARELY EASY
Well, here I am preparing to say goodbye yet again. You are too. On Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 9pm ET/8pm CT/7pm MT/6pm PT All Access Music Group will cease operations as you know it.
Once that day comes and goes, and some time moves on, the hard goodbye will most likely turn into an unexpected twist of hope. Someone or something will fill the void left in the radio & music industry. I’d go all-in on that prediction if I were a betting man.
HERE’S THE TAKEAWAY

p.s. My very last All Access article, this one, was uploaded on my grandma’s birthday.
