You’d be surprised how many on-air personalities are wandering around in a radio desert wondering if they’re even meeting their boss’ expectations. Some have no clue if they’re good, bad, or somewhere in between. I really hope that you receive positive feedback from air check sessions, let alone HAVE an air check session.
Here’s some insight from a recent talent coaching session that just might help you gain some confidence. I shared this with someone who does a solo show:
“This is the most personable and joyful I’ve heard you. It’s not only HOW you say your words, but I think it has a lot to do with your pacing too. That means you know WHAT you’re talking about and WHERE you’re going. Confidence is a wonderful thing.”
HERE’S THE TAKEAWAY
Think about which of these three scenarios apply to your life:
- Be grateful if you have someone coaching you.
- Graciously ask for more if the person coaching you doesn’t do it enough.
- Find someone to coach you if you have no one air checking your show.
Gaining confidence is just another tool for your on-air tool belt.
