Frank Turner

English folk singer-songwriter Frank Turner (born 28 December 1981) - originally the vocalist of post-hardcore band Million Dead -- has been out on his own since 2005. To date, Turner has released six solo albums, three rarities compilation albums, one split album and five EPs. Turner's sixth studio album, Positive Songs For Negative People, has just been released.

Originally touring on his own Turner has since established a backing band called The Sleeping Souls, which consists of Ben Lloyd (guitar, mandolin), Tarrant Anderson (bass), Matt Nasir (piano) and Nigel Powell (drums).

The first track from Turner's new album, "The Next Storm," is proving that he is now a well-established artist at Triple A radio. Other tracks on Positive Songs For Negative People (produced by Butch Walker) include "The Opening Act Of Spring," "Glorious You," "Mittens" and "Love Forty Down."

In a recent interview, Turner said, "I always wanted a permanent band, like the E Street Band or the Attractions or whatever. I think it's better musically, and it's kind of a cooler vibe; I want people who come to my shows regularly to be aware of who they are and to appreciate their talents. It is nice to also have some company on the road; but I think the solo, vocal and guitar thing will always remain the conceptual backbone of what I do."

Turner released a book, titled "The Road Beneath My Feet" in March 2015. Following the book release, Turner embarked on a 2015 book tour, which included signings, question-and-answer sessions and live solo performances.

Turner appeared at SXSW and Glastonbury. He will be doing a number of in-store performances during his North American tour.
