— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) April 25, 2022At the close of the deal, Twitter will become a privately held company. Which is no surprise.
In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Musk said that “since making my investment I now realize the company will neither thrive nor serve this societal imperative in its current form. Twitter needs to be transformed as a private company.”
Where Twitter Might Go
While Musk has hinted at making Twitter a subscription-based platform, he’s tweeted other ideas for how to optimize the social network:

Most important to Musk is preventing what he believes are “behind the scenes manipulation” of tweets.
Musk wants people to see if their tweets are promoted or demoted through “open source” for the public to view and improve upon.
Is A New Twitter Needed?
- Twitter recently ranked the worst among social platforms when it comes to disinformation & misinformation being shared.
- Twitter missed user growth numbers in their recent Q4 2021 Earnings Report.
- Twitter is at the bottom when it comes to social media users -paling in comparison to its competitors’ usage.
How Musk Could Improve Twitter?
Make Twitter a more attractive place for content creators – especially helping them make money.
We see Tik Tok, Facebook, and Instagram all growing with short-form vertical video, Twitter would be so much more enjoyable to consume real content, rather than random people shouting at the wind.
